HOW TO UPGRADE YOUR MIND CHATTER!
Have you ever noticed how the impact your words has on another person?
Our words are an extension of the vibes we are sending out to people around us. If we’re feeling amazing, this is the vibe that others feel when they interact with us, and if we’re feeling angry, lethargic, exhausted or frustrated, others will pick up on this too, when they are around us.
The same goes for the mind chatter we play over and over again in our minds. Our mind chatter is an extension of our vibe – We can often feel that our mind chatter is outside of our control. I believe that I am responsible for my own vibes, whether I'm in a good or bad mood, my emotional well-being is my responsibility.
My body believes what I tell it, over and over again and responds to my mind chatter accordingly. If I tell myself that I'm going to have a great day, and I go about doing things that make me feel good, I end up having a great day.
Where as if I tell myself that my day is going to be horrible because I have too many things to check off my to do list and that there is no time to do what I really want to do, I inevitably have a bad day. If I'm in a bad mood, my family will avoid me like the plague, or if they're feeling brave enough, they may come up and ask me what's the matter. They are feeling my vibes and understandably they don’t want to be around me when I’m in a bad mood.
For the most part my mind chatter is upbeat and positive and I absolutely love how I feel when I’m in a good mood and because of this, I am happy to do the inner work, to raise my vibe. It does take work, and it really is worth the effort. If you can change your mind chatter to be more upbeat, you will change your life for the better.

Now I’m someone who’s always loved quotes, mantras, affirmations, positive statements or whatever you prefer to call them. WORDS resonate with me, whether they are spoken or written down on paper – When I was a teenager, I kept multiple journals filled with hundreds of quotes that I usually came across in books. I’ve always loved the power of the written word and would open my journals up to read my quotes again and again and again – They always inspired me to be better and do better in my life.
A couple of months ago when I was cleaning out my office, I stumbled across my journals tucked away in the back of my drawers and of course, my fingers were itching to flick through the pages again, re-reading the "OH SO" neat handwriting I had back then, feeling the power of the words immediately jump off the page, just as they did 25-30 yrs ago when I first started creating my own home made inspirational journals for myself.
Looking through my journals reminded me how much I love mantras and quotations and if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you will see them sprinkled all through my Instagram stories and Facebook feeds.
I also use mantras in my home to inspire my family. Both my daughters have white boards on their bedroom walls and I will often write affirmations on their whiteboards to help inspire them too. In my home office I have some “word inspiration” framed by an empty picture frame on my office wall as a daily reminder of what is important to me – The words on my wall include “happiness, optimism, create, live, inspire, hope, love, bravery, laugh, courage, learn , smile and enjoy.” I have mantras in my notes section on my iphone so that when I look at my phone (we all know how many times we do this each day) I'm reminded how I want to feel - Words simply have guided me all through my life and their impact on my life continues to inspire me to this day.
We generate 60 – 70,000 thoughts in our mind per day, so I repeat my mantras/affirmations in my mind throughout my day, swapping my favourite mantras around, to suit my mood and to help me keep a positive mindset on a daily basis. I also do this to increase the ratio of positive to negative thoughts in my headspace. I figure that if I can boost the positive mind chatter, this has to be a good thing right?
Now, to be honest, some days are easier than others, but I know the energy it takes to be happy is much easier than the energy it takes to stay in a bad mood. I know which mood I’d rather be in on a daily basis.
I like to repeat my mantras in my mind or out loud, when I meditate, walk, exercise, wash dishes or even hang clothes on the line. I do use my mantras every day and I dial up the volume in my head, when I’m having a crappy day to over power my negative thoughts.
Many of these mantras that I'm about to share with you are adaptable
to EVERY situation and so I can use them anywhere, anytime.
Additionally, many of the mantras below, have become immersed into my subconscious because I repeat them so much and are now a part of my belief set.
You can write them on your bathroom mirror, put them in your iphone, create artwork for your home, get creative with how you want to use your mantras in your own life if you too are powerfully impacted by words!
It’s a fantastic way to remind yourself that you how you want to live your life!
