Nourishment is the gift, we give ourselves in life so we can thrive and not just survive, and is essential to living the life, I know you dream of for yourself. Life wants us to take care of ourselves, nourish ourselves, so we can be open to fully receiving all the amazing opportunities and experiences she has to offer us, in the infinite miraculous ways that she likes to surprise us.
I choose to nourish my mind, body & soul, because of the way it makes me feel - Nourishment for me, is choosing to do the things that help me feel great in my skin. My philosophy, is FEEL GREAT! BE GREAT! DO GREAT THINGS IN LIFE! So, when I make the time to nourish myself, I know that what I’m doing is investing in my own personal development, which in turn is adding immense value to my physical, mental, emotional & spiritual well-being, or put more simply, I’m going to FEEL GREAT!
Our body responds to the way we take care of her, in the way we choose to take of her. If we gift her nourishing activities like massages, beach walks, ocean swims, cuddles with our loved ones or reading inspirational books, she responds in kind. She feels nurtured and loved & let's you know through your emotional state of feeling happiness, contentment, refreshed and relaxed. If we deprive her of sleep or fuel her with food which she can’t process easily and we do this consistently, day in and day out, she responds to this as well, through feeling tired and lethargic, or we can even become or succumb to a physical injury. So I prefer to nurture her and love her as much as I can. I find that the more I nourish my temple, my intuitive abilities open up more and it becomes easier to recognise my inner guidance.

I believe that all 4 types of nourishment are important for us to focus on in our lives, and when we integrate these types of nourishment into our lives, it is going to help us thrive.

Listen with your heart, to the answer, and then take action.
Your intuition will guide you in the right direction.
Sometimes I feel like I’m nourishing myself, but I don’t feel that sense of inner peace & contentment, I know I'm expecting to feel. This often means for me, that I may not be nourishing myself in the way that my body needs, and so I need to tune in and ask myself, what kind of nourishment do I need in this moment? Then I need to take action & and nourish myself in this particular way.
We may think that we don’t have any more time to commit to our self care routine and yes, these is a real life dilemma we are all faced with. I believe, we put our time and energy into the areas of our life that matter most to us. Whether this be family, friends, work, sport or even volunteering in your local community. And at the end of the day, if we don’t take care of ourselves first, we won’t be able to show up in the areas of our lives that matter most to us. We will only be able to show up with a fraction of the energy & enthusiasm to give to these areas and for me, this is not the way I want to live my life. I want to be able to give from a place, where I am overflowing with enthusiasm and energy, so that I impact others in the most positive way.
In today’s blog, I am going to make it super easy for you to choose one activity to include into your daily routine, to start nourishing yourself more. You don’t even have to think about what you need. Just tune into your heart and ask her what type of nourishment is she craving right now - Physical, Mental, Emotional or Spiritual - Once you choose which type of nourishment you feel is right for you in this moment, all you need to do, is choose one of the activities off the list below, under the type of nourishment you are craving. Super simple right?
I’ve also included for you, a brief explanation of each type of nourishment, to help make your decision making process a breeze.
Physical Nourishment - The way we show love for our physical bodies, in the way we treat her. We have one body, one temple in this life time, so we must show her love, the best way we know how and she will respond with love.
Mental Nourishment - Mental nourishment involves paying attention to our mindset and the thoughts that we allow to live in our minds, rent free. If our thoughts are not adding value or they're helpful for our mind state, they need to be re-framed into more helpful thoughts or be evicted altogether.
Emotional Nourishment - Our emotions are a by-product of the thoughts we think & any repressed emotions which are held within our body. We tend to place so much focus on our feelings, and can forget, that when we re-frame our mindset, the emotions transform as a result of our mindset upgrade.
Spiritual Nourishment - This kind of nourishment encompasses our deeper understanding of life, and essentially, what we believe about our lives in a spiritual sense. This will be unique for each one of us. We are all created by the same source, whether we call it Life, God, Buddha, Allah, Universe, it doesn’t matter what the title is used to describe the greater power that created us, it all means the same thing to me. I believe nourishing ourselves through deepening our spiritual connection is one of the ways we need to nourish ourselves to thrive. Holding my newborn babies were a spiritual experience for me, the connection I felt when we were alone together was truly magical.
